Emilie

Recently I visited my friends Lisa and Matt, and had a blast hanging out with them and their daughter, Emilie. She called me Aunt Andrea all weekend. I melted every time.

Caught red-handed!

Yesterday I set a humane box trap for Mumford, and he took the bait - a Ritz Bit peanut butter cracker sandwich.

I walked down to the park and released him back into the wild, or at least as wild as it gets in northern VA.

It's a nice neighborhood over there - maybe he'll find a nice family with kids. . .

Mumford's still here

Today I discovered that Mumford is still living in my kitchen. He's outsmarted every trap. So I'm off to try another type of mouse trap.

Wish me luck. . .

Mumford has left the building

Mumford has left - I think. I hope.

A guy at Home Depot told me about an ingenious trap, which I set and left out over the weekend to no avail.

The trap works like this: you take a tall kitchen trash can and in the bottom put a bag of popped popcorn (I chose cheese flavored) and some peanut butter. The mousie climbs in, eats itself silly, and can't climb out. Then you take the trash can out to a nice field somewhere and turn the mouse out in the wilderness, full and unharmed.

Mumford didn't take the bait, and I have it on good authority that he likes trash.

So I think he's gone. Will keep you posted.

Mumford loves peanut butter

Last night Mumford ate a good portion of the peanut butter off of the baited mouse trap. He outsmarted the trap. . .

So I set an unbaited trap between the stove (he lives under there) and the trap that has the peanut butter on it.

Fingers crossed!

Eek!

Last night my friend Leah and I were sitting on the couch watching the travel channel (great on Tues. night) when all of sudden a mouse appeared by the front door. I've never seen any evidence of mice in my house before, so I'm going to comfort myself by thinking that he just happened to come in under the front door. And he doesn't have friends living here. It was over 100 degrees yesterday - maybe he came in to cool off?

He ran underneath a bookcase when we approached him. When we moved the bookcase, he scurried under the stove. When we removed the drawer under the stove, he was gone. Under the cabinets. In my kitchen.

At 10:30 last night I went to the store and bought a mouse trap and peanut butter, and set the trap.

As of this morning, Mumford (as we named him) is still somewhere presumably alive. My hope is that he finds his own way out, and doesn't die in my kitchen. Or in the trap.

I'm published!

Great news! Last week my first (hopefully of many) articles was published on the Web site SearchEngineLand.com. Very exciting, since that site is THE site for search marketers. Big thanks to Chris Sherman for giving me the opportunity!

Here's my first article.
