Duke and I are competing in a team penning buckle series (the big prize at the end of the summer is a belt buckle). As part of the buckle series, every 3rd week of the month throughout the summer there's a jackpot ride. You pay $20 for one ride, and the team with the fastest time wins cash. You don't get to pick who you ride with - names are drawn out of a hat. To determine who wins a buckle, at the end of the summer they tally each rider's times from the jackpot rides. So even if you don't win the jackpot, you want to get a fast time.
Last night, my team won the jackpot with a 39-second ride. We worked well together, got lucky, and beat out a lot of much better riders. I rode with Marley and Jessica - it was great to meet them and I'd ride with them again anytime.

Bonus buy
