Watching 60 Minutes' piece about colony collapse disorder (CCD), which happens when a hive of honeybees become sick, lose navigational ability, and ultimately don't return home. The bees abandon the hives even when the hives contain honey and larvae. Tons of bees are disappearing, which is bad for farmers.
Scientists don't know what causes CCD. They say it might take months or years to find the cause. One theory is that a new pesticide, which contains nicotine, may contribute to the problem.

Kansas City!
As promised, more on my trip to Kansas City. I had a great tour guide. Ate some really great food, including a BLT at Peanut and steak at Hereford House (any restaurant with Hereford in the name sounds good to me).
We hung out and talked shop at my friend's office, which is near a cool outdoor shopping area called the Plaza. Thanks to Sara for taking me shopping!
We also visited the new Kansas City Modern Art Museum, and the Union Station CanStruction display to view Craig's friend's Snoopy sculpture. Snoopy is made entirely of nonperishable food items - very creative.
While on the Plaza, stopped by the Apple store. Nice - not as crowded as the one here. Craig struck up conversation with one of the employees about docking stations, and the guy gave me an old docking station (floor model) - free. Really nice folks at the Kansas City Apple store. And if you're shopping for A/V equipment, take my friend Craig with you.

Finally!
I'm way behind on blog posting - have so much to tell you about! Most importantly, a week ago today was the final walk-through with the contractor. That means that the work on my condo is 100% complete!
It looks great, with fancier moulding around the doors and windows, crown molding, and a nice architectural change in the dinette. A friend of mine commented that the place looks bigger, which is great.
Last week I went on a trip to Kansas City to visit a search friend and then to our Columbia, MO office to get some work done. This weekend I'll post more details and some pictures. . .
